iPhone 13 will finally bring the Always-on display feature thanks to AMOLED screens

Now that OLED screens are a reality, iPhone users can enjoy the benefits of screens with deep blacks, increased contrast, and conserve more battery life due to individually illuminated pixels.

According to new leaks, Apple will add to the iPhone 13 series a very common feature on Android smartphones with OLED, the Always-On Display feature. Rumors indicate that the iPhone 13 family will bring the Always-On Display mode that will likely come as part of iOS 15.

For those who don't know, this feature consists of illuminating parts of the screen for a short period of time to show notifications to the user, without illuminating the entire display. Interestingly, this feature will not be a first for Apple, as its Apple Watch Series 6 already have such a feature.

It's not a surprise to see some features coming from other devices in the company's portfolio coming to the iPhone, the iPhone 13 series includes some changes to the display technology. For those who use Android smartphones and tablets, the feature is not innovative, however, it will certainly be an advantage for those who cannot leave the Apple ecosystem.

Always Display with clock and persistent battery icon

Max Weinbach also claims the availability of an Always-On Display mode on newer iPhones. In fact, the lock screen of newer phones will show important elements.

However, it won't necessarily be fully lit in the same way as current models. The clock and battery icons will always be visible on the screen. It will be persistent regardless of the illuminated state of the rest of the display.

Notifications will be shown on the lock screen "using a bar and icons". Not the entire screen will light up. "Instead, it will display it exactly as you are used to it now, except dimmed and only temporarily," said Weinbach.

Despite practically not making mistakes in their information, it is not the time to take the information as true now, after all, Apple launches its new generation of iphones always at the end of the year, so there are long months left for some things to change, or not. We will likely see a lot of new information about the next iPhone and also new versions of iOS in the coming months.
