Apparently, the MacBook Pro 2021 should follow the same design used in the iPhone 12. The information comes from the famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Rumor has it that the new MacBook Pro will undergo a major design change this year.
Ming-Chi, in a recent note to investors noted by MacRumors, said:
"In terms of housing design, the new models cancel the curvy design of the top and bottom of the existing models and adopt a flat-form design similar to the iPhone 12."
Apple's new smartphone, the iPhone 12, was announced in October 2020 and features a design with flat, square edges. The first Apple product to feature this design was the 2018 iPad Pro, which later shared its design with the latest released iPad Air. According to Ming, the next to adopt the format will be the MacBook Pro.
Intel releases benchmarks of its processors to take down Apple's M1It is a fact that the Macbook pro has long had flat edges, but its top and bottom are rounded. With this, the appearance of the new version of Apple's notebook will be more similar to that of the iPhone 12. However, it is not yet known how Apple will make the product easier to handle, because with its straight lines, it will probably be more hard to get it off the surface.
Bloomberg disagrees with Ming
Bloomberg writer Mark Gurman dimmed Ming's speculations, saying the changes to the MacBook Pro "will be similar" and have "minor design changes." In addition, it is believed that the new versions of notebooks will come with Apple Silicon chips, in addition to a brighter screen with greater contrast.
Apple will return to physical function buttons and add more ports
In addition to the rumors mentioned above, it is said that Apple will return to using physical function keys instead of the Touch Bar, more ports, an SD card reader and MagSafe charging.
Availability and release
According to Ming, the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros will arrive in the third quarter of 2021, which will start at the end of June.
