    Man buys R$1 million worth of Apple products with fake card

      As we already know, it is nothing new that people around the world try to defraud a company, whether with small or even larger scams. Apple, for example, has also become a victim recently.

      According to KCRA TV, Marcus Israel Butler, 33, traveled from Sacramento, Calif., to other cities in the region purchasing Apple products with fake cards.

      The scam was done as follows: The man tried to buy iPhones and iMacs with an invalid debit card, after payment was refused, he gave the store's sales team a phone number that would be the manager of his bank. However, the alleged manager was actually someone else involved in the scam.

      According to what was found, he managed to spend about US$ 6.000 per store and accumulated US$ 350 in total, totaling approximately R$ 1.139.000.


      Broadcaster KCRA says the coup was carried out for a short period of time and the man already turned himself in to the police at the end of December, pleading guilty to the fraud. The trial, however, has not yet taken place.
