Meet the Moto G Nio, Motorola's new smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 865

Motorola has long had the line of smartphones that make up the Moto G family, and the focus of this series of devices has always been accessibility, for bringing, as far as possible, good devices for a more affordable price in the market in general.

However, it seems that this could change in 2021, as the company is rumored to launch the first Moto G device to be powered by a powerful chipset, thus reaching a new level of devices in the line.

Before you get your hopes up though, note that we're not talking about the newest Snapdragon 888 chipset announced this week by Qualcomm, but in fact, this upcoming Moto G will be powered by the Snapdragon 865, which is still pretty impressive as the models of the company are usually released with lower-level processors.

    Moto G "Nio"

So far, the device in question is called by the codename Nio, and in the image that circulates on the network we can see that it has two front selfie cameras, and that will be housed in the upper left corner of the screen in two individual holes, instead of follow the pattern of other manufacturers that fit two lenses into a single pill-shaped cutout.

The look of the device itself is still very similar to others in the Moto G family, with a very substantial bezel around the display, so far, nothing surprising.

What excites fans the most is that this will be a more robust device. The Nio should arrive with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage, with a 5.000mAh battery, and boasting a 6,7-inch screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and 1080p+ resolution. It will also be equipped with Motorola's displayport mode, which allows the phone to be connected to external monitors.

Its factory operating system will be Android 11, and on the back of the camera package there will be a set of three lenses, with a 64 MP main camera, a 16 MP ultrawide and a 2 MP depth sensor. On the front, two more cameras will be housed in the device, one with 8 MP and another with 16 MP ultrawide.

    Launch

The until then Moto G Nio should be announced by Motorola in early 2021, being considered as one of the main devices on the market, at least by all indications.

However, nothing further was released. As usual, Motorola has not commented on the leak of this information, nor has it even confirmed the possible official name of the device.
