O Motorola one action is the third device in the successful line One da Motorola. The smartphone has all the beautiful features of the One Vision, such as processing and the screen in cinema aspect ratio. However, it has a big difference: the OneAction is the first smartphone on the market to have an action camera in its entirety, allowing the user to record videos horizontally with the smartphone vertically at a shooting angle very close to a GoPro.

Does the new action camera function justify the purchase of the smartphone or the upgrade of the current one? One Vision? You can now check it out in our full review.

    Design and Canvas

O Motorola one action remains with all the characteristics that made the One Vision be a success. Until then IPS LCD de 6,3 inches with proportion 21:9 leaves the smartphone with a narrower appearance than the other models on the market, which can cause a certain strangeness at first contact, but it proves to be a sure choice for the company.

REVIEW: Motorola One Action breaks new ground with GoPro-style action camera
Screen in cinema proportion causes some strangeness in the first uses, but the company's choice is right.

The display of multimedia content on the OneAction that already have the native proportion in 21:9 are perfect. The absence of black bars gives the feeling of greater immersion in what is being watched, all with very well defined colors and intense brightness.

just like the line Galaxy S10 and your screen Infinity-Othe Motorola one action brings the front camera in a black circle at the top left of the screen. This design concept pleases and does not bother you when consuming certain content and applications. Of course, some apps didn't come prepared for this design, so this hole can be over important elements at times.

The smartphone finish is glass with a very beautiful color. The blue with brown tones leaves the OneAction very premium looking. The smartphone comes with a transparent cover to help preserve the back from possible scratches from the most clumsy, without its beautiful color being hidden.

REVIEW: Motorola One Action breaks new ground with GoPro-style action camera
The back of the smartphone stands out with a very beautiful color, it is worth using a transparent cover

The cameras are positioned vertically at the rear. There is a bulge that when using the smartphone without the protective cover makes the cameras touch the surface, something typical of newer smartphones.

O OneAction, despite being large in length, it is very ergonomic and light, weighing only 181g. Handling it with one hand is a very satisfying experience, both for accessing content on the screen and reaching the fingerprint reader perfectly positioned on the back.

REVIEW: Motorola One Action breaks new ground with GoPro-style action camera
The One Action's cameras integrate very well into the device's design

The smartphone has few buttons in its construction, being the volume and power button on the right side and a chip and micro SD drawer on the left side; at the top, the 3,5 mm jack for headphones and a microphone for noise reduction; and finally, at the bottom, we have a microphone, USB-C input and the mono speaker.

    Processing

O Motorola one action comes equipped with processor Exynos 9609 da Samsung, combined with a GPU Mali-G72 MP3 three core, 4 GB of RAM memory and 128 GB expandable internal storage via micro SD from to 512 GB.

As in One Visionthe OneAction It has one of the best performances among the mid-range smartphones available on the market. For game lovers, the choice of this model will be right, as it delivers high performance at a relatively low cost.

REVIEW: Motorola One Action breaks new ground with GoPro-style action camera
Samsung's Exynos 9609 processor brings AI to cameras and great performance for processor-intensive games/applications

Games like PUBG e Free Fire run on their high settings without stuttering and stuttering. Other more demanding titles such as Asphalt 9 e Mortal Kombat 10 could be played at their highest settings with slight drops in FPS, which is impressive for a mid-range smartphone.

For everyday use, the OneAction stands out positively when it comes to making transitions between applications quickly and fluidly. The smartphone never crashed or stuttered while using email applications, social networks, streaming and photo editing, showing the great optimization carried out in the system Android One.

    Cameras

O Motorola one action has its great differential in the set of cameras, being the first smartphone on the market to integrate an action camera for recordings in the GoPro

The great thing is the function of using this camera to record videos horizontally holding the cell phone vertically, making life easier for users. The function is super welcome and could become a standard feature for camera software going forward.

REVIEW: Motorola One Action breaks new ground with GoPro-style action camera
One Action's action camera surprises in the quality of footage

The action camera has 16 MP with opening f / 2.2 and lens ultra wide de 117°. The recordings are quite satisfactory for what it proposes, the electronic stabilization does a good job, but it creates certain waves in the corners of the footage that are a little annoying.

A very confusing feature about using this camera is the impossibility of taking pictures from it. Since the user can take pictures while recording, showing that this is only an obstacle for the software and it would be very interesting to Motorola release this function in the near future.

However, the implementation of the action camera made the main camera lose a considerable quality in relation to the One Vision.

Os 48 MP of technology Quad-pixel present in the previous model gave space to the 12 MP with opening f / 1.8 with lens wide. The lack of technology Quad-pixel is quite noticeable here, the photos don't come out with as much definition and quality as in the One Vision. The clicks are satisfactory in environments with a lot of light, but in more closed places, the incidence of noise is very noticeable due to the lack of night mode. The software even tries to help by applying some treatments to the click, but this makes the photo look a little blurry and artificial.

The third camera is a depth sensor and has 5 MP. The effects are quite satisfying and create effects bokeh, the camera identifies the target point with high quality and the edges around the user are minimal.

The selfie camera had its quality slightly reduced and now has 12 MP with opening f / 2.0. Even so, the results are quite satisfactory and close to those obtained in the One Vision.

    Audio and battery

O Motorola one action has a quality sound, even having only a mono input on the bottom of the device. The sound has weight and good definition, perfect for watching a video on YouTube and even listen to that song in a more unpretentious way.

REVIEW: Motorola One Action breaks new ground with GoPro-style action camera
One Action's sound output brings good definition to music and movies.

The smartphone is also equipped with the Dolby Atmos, technology that polishes the sound to bring more definition and brightness.

Speaking of audio, the headphones that come with the OneAction They are very good, having a good incidence of bass, mids and well defined treble. Combining this quality with Dolby Atmos, the experience is very satisfying for both listening to music and watching movies and series.

REVIEW: Motorola One Action breaks new ground with GoPro-style action camera
The headphones that come in the Motorola One Action box are very good and have very well balanced frequencies

The battery of the OneAction has 3.500 mAh with fast charging support 17w. The battery life is very good, the user can use the smartphone for internet, games and the screen on throughout the day and will come home with charge left.

    Android One system

O Android One which is present in the OneAction is a purer version of Android 9.0 Pie. The system is very light, fast and fluid, but it lacks a lot in terms of customization.

It is impossible to remove some widgets from the home screen like the search bar of the google at the bottom of the screen. For the user who likes a cleaner home screen, this can be a huge hassle. Incidentally, the system also does not include the night mode (dark mode) and no mode to hide apps or customize the grid. The use of a launcher here is welcome for those looking for a smartphone with their face.

REVIEW: Motorola One Action breaks new ground with GoPro-style action camera
The Android One system has few customization options, in addition to not having a night mode

However, users who choose the OneAction You can rest assured about system updates. THE Motorola informed that the smartphone is ready to receive updates from the Android within a period of 3 years.

    Conclusion

O Motorola one action take everything that went right in One Vision and adds an awesome action camera to the set. A great insight from the company that could become a trend in the near future.

However, for users who will not use the feature, the end result can be a little disappointing, as the other cameras had to undergo a reduction in their quality to accommodate the new technology.

REVIEW: Motorola One Action breaks new ground with GoPro-style action camera
The One Action is the most complete mid-range smartphone on the market and outperforms its biggest competitors in several factors.

For the user who has the One Vision and is tempted to buy the OneAction, it is recommended to keep to the current one. Since only the camera set has been changed, the hardware and software are exactly the same as their big brother.

With suggested prices of R$ 1.699the OneAction It is a good choice for those who are looking for an intermediate smartphone with great innovations and superior quality compared to other competitors.
