MIUI 11 will receive new camera features

MIUI 11, Xiaomi's newest interface, was officially launched in September this year, delivering users several visual improvements and new features, such as dark mode, new font and a kind of "always on-display", for example.

Fortunately, the company has already released the stable version of the interface for many models. However, these handsets may receive another update soon, as information points out that Xiaomi is working on new camera features for MIUI 11.

XDA Developers managed to find in the "MIUI Camera" application some lines of code that suggest the arrival of new features. Below you can see what they are:

    Video tagging

The team found references to a feature called "video tagging", which will allow you to set a tag while shooting. That way, when the video is played in the gallery, the user will be able to jump directly to a specific moment. This is certainly very useful when recording interviews, classes or lectures, for example, making it easier to find the most important parts.

    Scanning documents and ID cards

Xiaomi is also expected to insert a document scanner into the MIUI 11's camera app. This new mode will be able to save black and white images or make them sharper for printing. In addition, the company will also put the "ID copy" mode, created to scan ID cards, including support for the front and back of the document.

    HEIC Support

MIUI 11 users will also support "HEIF/HEIC" image files. If you don't know, this format was designed to reduce the size of photos without losing much quality.

So far, we don't know when Xiaomi intends to bring these features to its new interface, but given that the codes are already being inserted, it shouldn't take long for the news to be made available in some beta version.
