    Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is announced with Dimensity 1200 and 12GB of RAM

    During the last few weeks, a mystery has been hovering in the air due to the likely launch of the first gaming smartphone in the Redmi line. The company itself had already confirmed that a device of this category was in development and about to be announced in April this year, but little was known about this device.

    However, to the surprise of many, the Chinese company that is part of the Xiaomi universe went public today (27) to announce the arrival of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition (ou Gaming Enhanced Edition) as its first device focused on the gamer audience. Like all products launched by Redmi, this gaming smartphone should also stand out for its more affordable price compared to competitors.

    Even being a more modest model to guarantee a more affordable price, the Redmi K40 Gaming lavishes attractive features, starting with the 6,5-inch OLED screen, Full HD+ resolution, with 120Hz refresh rate and 460Hz sampling.

    This combination promises to deliver the same fluidity as more expensive models in this category, such as the recently launched ASUS ROG Phone 5, for example. Furthermore, HDR10+ standard is supported and the fingerprint reader is integrated into the screen for practicality.

    Although this is not its focus, the device's camera configuration proves to be quite efficient. The rear module consists of three lenses, a 64MP main, an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro.



    Performance is up to the chip 1200nm Dimensity 6, the most modern and efficient in the MediaTek portfolio, which works with the support of 6GB, 8GB or even 12GB of RAM. Internal storage space includes 128 or 256GB.

    Just like gaming smartphones usually present, the K40 Gaming also has a proprietary cooling system, not as elaborate as Lenovo's Legion Phones, but enough to maintain the ideal internal temperature.

    This cooling system is built with a combination of graphene, graphite and a vapor chamber, but there are no built-in fans, not even an optional accessory for that. To increase immersion in games, the sound system consists of JBL certified stereo speakers, with support for high definition audio Hi-Res Audio and Dolby Atmos.

    Finally, the K40 Gaming Edition also has a 5.000mAh big battery that supports loads of up to 67W, enough to complete the water tank. 0 to 100% in just 42 minutes, and guaranteeing autonomy for practically an entire day.

    It is worth remembering that Xiaomi has another line of gamers smartphones in the Black Shark series, and just like the latest 4 Pro model, the Redmi K40 Gaming has two physical buttons on the sides, which can be customized with specific in-game actions. In addition, its rear with a modern and stylized design is even better with the RGB LED lighting that is present in the camera module.

    The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition released today (27th) will be available in China starting this Friday, April 30th. It can be found in silver, black, both with stripes on the back cover and the word "Fightning" engraved on it, in addition to a yellow one with the name "Bruce Lee" stamped.
