On this last night, 23:00 Brasilia time, it took place in Hong Kong the event of Samsung, to introduce its newest smartphone: the Galaxy Nexus.
Being the first device to receive the Android system version 4.0, known as Ice Cream Sandwich, the new Nexus has garnered the attention of onlookers around the world.
The main features are:
- Display: 4,65-inch Super AMOLED display, with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, widescreen (16:9).
- Operational system: Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), without Samsung customizations.
- Processor: Dual-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A9 CPU, TI OMAP 4460 chipset.
- RAM memory: 1GB.
- Internal memory: versions with 16GB or 32GB.
- Connections: HDMI/MHL, USB 2.0 (com USB OTG), Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, DLNA e NFC.
- Sensors: accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, light/proximity sensor, barometer.
- Networks: versões HSPA+ (GSM 850/900/1800/1900 e HSDPA 850 /900/1700/1900/2100) e LTE (4G).
- Back camera: 5Mega pixels, 2592×1936 pixels, com flash LED e zero shot lag (pictures are taken instantly). Shoots in 1080p 30fps.
- Frontal camera: 1,3 mega pixels.
- Battery: Li-Ion, with a capacity of 1750mAh.
- Special functions: face recognition (Face Unlock), anti-oil surface, Android Beam.
- Dimensions: 135.5 x 67.9, just 8,94mm thick
- Weight: 135g.
Starting with the huge screen, right away you can see the absence of physical buttons (Yey!). The buttons "Menu","Home"And"Back” are now located virtually on the screen, a clear inspiration from the “old” system Honeycomb, which is present at different points in the 4.0 version. Touchscreen response time is impressive 0,01 millisecond. The device is thin and curved (similar to the old Nexus S), with 8,94 mm of thickness.
A Lockscreen of the system also has modifications. Among them are included the Face Unlock, unlocking the device by recognizing the user's face.
The camera Galaxy Nexus is endowed with LED flash take pictures of 5 megapixels. It takes lightning-fast sequential shots thanks to the new ICS, as well as taking panoramic photos. The camera too film in 1080p to 30fps with image stabilization, with time lapse and zoom support. The differential: it is possible to take pictures while you record video. The device also has a 1,3MP front camera for videoconferencing.
