Xiaomi is the leader in the smartband market

Last month, we learned that Apple led in smartwatch sales in the third quarter of this year, thanks to the large investment made by the company in this sector. However, when we talk about smartbands, the scenario changes completely, as Xiaomi leads the ranking.

According to data collected by Canalys, the Chinese manufacturer has a market share of around 27%, expressive numbers that have not been seen since 2015. In addition, the analysis also pointed out that compared to the same period last year, that is, , in the third quarter of 2018, the global smartband market grew by 65%.

Canalys also said that in the third quarter of this year, Xiaomi grew by 74%, largely due to the success of the Mi Band 4, which brought considerable improvements and an attractive price. This "formula" made the Chinese leave behind well-known brands in the sector, such as Samsung and Fitbit.

However, despite Xiaomi's dominance in the smartbands market, the data revealed that during the analyzed period the biggest growth was registered by another company: Huawei. The giant managed to grow an incredible 243% over the same period last year. This made it occupy the third position in the global ranking.

As stated earlier, the Mi Band 4 has a big share in Xiaomi's success. The smart bracelet provides water resistance up to 50 meters deep, heart rate monitor, stopwatch, step counter and other features. Below you can see the complete specifications:
