The manufacturer's founder Lei Jun introduced the wireless charging technology from a distance in detail. Xiaomi's charging technology was carried out within a radius of several meters. A single device can draw power from 5 watts. Furthermore, multiple devices can also use this technology at the same time (each device supports 5 watts), and even interfering objects will not reduce charging efficiency.
The technology has 17 technical patents, and the main technology is in space positioning and power transmission. The charging has built-in 5-phase jamming antennas, which can position the smartphone within milliseconds and accurately detect the smartphone's position. The phase control matrix composed of 144 antennas transmits millimeter waves to the smartphone through beamforming.
Xiaomi has developed its own set of antennas on the smartphone. Among them, the 'beacon antenna' transmits position information in the spatial field through low power consumption. The 'receiving antenna array, consisting of 14 antennas, converts the millimeter wave signal emitted by the charging stack into electrical energy, through a rectifier circuit, realizing science fiction isolation.

Motorola also announced wireless remote charger
In addition to Xiaomi, Motorola also announced wireless charging technology. But unlike Motorola's technology, Xiaomi Mi Air Charge does not require the device to be in a fixed position. In the case of Motorola charger, charging stops immediately when the transmitter is manually locked.
