Xiaomi has developed a super fast charger that is capable of charging a smartphone with 100W of power. Through a video posted on Weibo, a Chinese social network, it is possible to see a 4.000mAh phone completely without charge being charged to 100% in just 17 minutes. The news was demonstrated by the company's CEO, Lin Bin.
Until then, not many details of the Xiaomi charger were revealed, what we know is that it has a Type-C connector and a power of 100 W. The technology used to get all the power without overloading the battery was not explained.

The charger was called the Super Charge Turbo and the demo surpasses Oppo's then-fastest VOOC charger. Oppo's charger accomplishes the feat by splitting its 3.400mAh battery into two separate 1.700mAh cells.
Xiaomi did not reveal which devices the new technology will be used on. We also do not have information on whether Xiaomi will market the charger only in conjunction with a smartphone or separately, as an accessory.
Xiaomi's new battery could start a race between manufacturers in search of more powerful chargers. Currently, Oppo, Xiaomi's rival, is the recharge speed record holder, the R17 Pro is compatible with a 50-watt charger that takes the smartphone's 3.750 mAh battery from 0 to 100% in 35 minutes.
