Last Thursday (14th), the survey by Conterpoint Research revealed that Xiaomi is growing more and more. Despite being at the top of the global ranking of cell phone sales, the Chinese still lags behind Apple and Samsung in other areas.
According to Contepoint, iPhone dominated 75% of profits over other manufacturers worldwide. In short, the analysis takes into account the global mobile phone market in Q2 2021. Despite being in 3rd place, Apple raised 75% of the sector's profit. Its market share in relation to revenue is 40%.
It is noteworthy that this is not one of the best results of the giant Apple. In the 4th quarter of 2020, the manufacturer achieved a profit of 86% after registering the mark of 51% in the previous quarter compared to other manufacturers. In addition, there was an increase in revenue during the same period from 28% to 50%.
In 2nd place is Samsung. As per the report, “There were two cases where Samsung failed to generate the second highest revenue in the market – Q2019 2020 and QXNUMX XNUMX when Huawei achieved second place.” Furthermore, "In terms of profit, however, Samsung has consistently been number two in recent quarters."

Xiaomi sells more phones than Apple
Despite the iPhone being the leader in terms of profit and revenue, Xiaomi still sells more phones than Apple. According to data from the Canalys consultancy, revealed in July, the Chinese reached a share of 17% of the global market in the 2nd quarter 2021. Therefore, its growth was 83% compared to the same period in 2020.
Furthermore, Apple comes in 3rd place with 14% of market share, after an increase of 1%. Samsung is the leader, with a 19% share, and a 15% increase in sales. The other positions are occupied by Oppo and Vivo, each with a 10% presence in the global smartphone market.
Finally, in August, Xiaomi revealed its financial results for the 2nd quarter of 2021. According to the report, the company had revenue of $9,1 billion from cell phones alone. In all, 52,9 million devices were sold in the same period.
