Between February 24th and 27th, MWC 2020 will take place, a great technology fair where several companies intend to announce new products. However, due to the spread of the coronavirus, some brands are abandoning the event.
Amazon was the first giant to pull out of this year's MWC, followed by Sony, NVIDIA, LG and Ericsson. However, even in the midst of this worrying scenario, Xiaomi reaffirmed that it will be at the event.

In an official statement, the manufacturer said that as some of its team members will be traveling from China, security measures will be taken to ensure that no one infected makes the trip. Check out the company's full statement below:
With the continued spread of the novel coronavirus pneumonia, we would like to inform our fans, media friends, partners and users, that everyone's health and safety is a priority for all of us at Xiaomi.
In addition, we will attend Mobile World Congress 2020 as planned and release our latest smartphones as well as an array of smart hardware.
Xiaomi is committed to containing the current outbreak by following all effective measures to protect the health and well-being of its employees, fans, media friends, partners and users who are coming to visit us all over the world.
So we implemented some measures for the global launch on February 23rd, as well as at our MWC booth.
- We will ensure that all employees traveling from China are symptom free and out of the country for at least 14 days prior to arrival in Barcelona for our launch event and MWC.
- We will ensure that all company executives scheduled to participate in any type of activities and meetings are outside China for at least 14 calendar days prior to the launch event and MWC.
- We will follow GSMA guidelines and ensure that the exhibition booth and all products displayed are disinfected frequently.
- We will ensure that all employees who will be at the booth are from our local offices across Europe. We will also ensure that they are symptom free for 14 calendar days prior to the launch event and MWC.
This announcement reinforces that the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro launch event will not be cancelled, so we will soon know all the details about these models. Remembering that other companies also left MWC aside, namely Vivo, MediaTek and Intel.
