3 out of 10 Android users think about switching to iPhone 12

It's not surprising to see the percentage of Android smartphone users thinking about switching their devices to iPhones and I'm not talking specifically about the iPhone 12 that will be announced on October 13th.

But it makes perfect sense to take into account the model that is yet to arrive, precisely to refer to the move to a new smartphone. The survey was conducted by SellCell with data from over 2.000 people currently using Android.

Of the total, about a third (33,1%) of these people think about changing their mobile system, leaving Android and starting to use iOS on a new iPhone 12. In addition, 55,9% of respondents, scored as a reason main support and longer updates. 48,8% stated that the main objective of the move to the iPhone 12 is the greater degree of protection of their data and system.

3 in 10 Android users think about buying an iPhone 12 in the US.

It is worth mentioning that 36,9% of the people interviewed are ready to stop using Android devices and acquire a more compact device, as if there were no Android smartphones with this feature and, when asked which of the four future iPhone 12 models they would choose , the vast majority (48,1%) pointed to the iPhone 12 "mini".

Preference shows choice for more compact smartphone, I read "cheapest smartphone".

We know, however, that this is not the case, the choice has more to do with the price than with the compact size of the devices and this research does not say. And yet, although the number of people interviewed is not large enough, some trends based on the survey results can be deduced. Users are more likely to be interested in software quality and support, and with them, physical convenience at work due to the more compact dimensions.

Reasons for a possible switch from Android device to iPhone 12

We can see that what catches the user's attention is the support and security existing in Apple devices. Strangely, this goes against what the vast majority of Android users think. After all, we have Android smartphones of all possible sizes, now, we have the promise of major manufacturers to keep their devices updated for up to 3 versions of Android, that means 2 to 3 years of update.

And, of course, the market in which the survey was carried out makes all the difference, after all, if the same survey were carried out in Spain, points such as better prices and 5G connectivity would not make any sense here. But back to pricing, the way Android device makers are bringing their flagships to market, prices are currently on par.

What really caught their attention was that just over 10% would change their Android smartphone for an iPhone 12, thought about the system that makes the cell phone work, in this case iOS, which comes in year and year out, continues to bring users from Apple what the Android user has had for a long time. Generating infinitive memes about the fact.

Perhaps the research was not all that comprehensive. 2.000 people is no longer a representative number, especially if we take into account the region, purchasing power and age group (only those over 18 are scored).

This piqued our curiosity and there is nothing fairer than understanding the preference of users here in Spain. For that, I created a form to know a little more about what you think about the new iPhones 12 that are to be announced on October 13th.

Would you trade your Android smartphone for a brand new iPhone 12? remember, you have to take into account everything, including what usually keeps users away from Apple smartphones here in Spain, the price!
