Last Friday (11), Apple announced the arrival of the first Macs with an M1 chip on Spanish soil. Officially launched by the company during the "One More Thing" event that took place last month, Apple finally announces the arrival of three of its latest releases to Spain.

The launch of the 13,3-inch MacBook Air arrives in the country with a 10% discount if purchased through the company's online store. The notebook arrives as an entry-level version with 16 GB of RAM, M1 processor manufactured by Apple and the new macOS Big Sur operating system installed from the factory. Its price starts from R$ 12.999. Sales of the products have already started, and for Rio de Janeiro, the company guarantees free delivery for the days between January 4th and 8th.

In addition to the MacBook Air, Apple also announces the arrival of the new 13-inch MacBook Pro and Mac Mini. Both devices also have the M1 processor, with support for RAM memory of up to 16 GB, and internal storage via SSD from 256 GB. The Mac Mini starts at R$8.699, while the MacBook Pro starts at R$17.299.

    What's new?

Apple initiated a considerable change in its devices, and notebooks and desktop computers were the most affected. The company ended its partnership with Intel, the company that provided the line of processors for Macs since 2005, and from that year, it began to launch its new devices with proprietary chips in ARM architecture that make up the Apple Silicon processor line, and which became better known as the M1 chip.

The M1 is an octa-core processor that has a seven or eight-core GPU, depending on the model you choose at the time of purchase. For example, the user has the option of choosing the product that best fits their needs, such as opting for a model with seven or eight graphics chip cores, 8 GB or 16 GB RAM memory, and internal storage that starts with 256GB and go up to 2TB, all via SSD. According to the choice, the price may vary.

If the consumer wants a modern product, but does not need extremely robust configurations, the simplest model with 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of SSD and seven GPU cores costs R$ 12.999. If you want the most complete option, the price can reach R$ 25.499.

The M1 processor is the great differentiator of this new line of Macs, precisely because it has the function of fully integrating with the macOS Big Sur system, another plausible novelty that has made a difference at the moment. Expert critics have highly praised the performance that the processor and operating system offer when working together. The devices practically have the same design as their predecessors, with just a few occasional changes.
