Indian netizens, over the last few days, have used the Reddit platform to complain about a change in Facebook's registration system. According to one of the users, when trying to log into his old social network account, a screen appeared guiding him to register his name exactly as it appears in Aadhaar, India's official identity card, which is equivalent to our General Registration (RG).
Even though more sensitive data, such as a document, are not required, the measure ended up making many people uncomfortable, as the change could be the beginning of some change in terms of digital privacy. Facebook itself ended up issuing a statement on the matter saying that everything was a test and that the feature ended up being misinterpreted.

To quote, in the classic message Facebook says that "Using your real name makes it easier for your friends to recognize you". Already in the current message, which generated all the confusion, it says that "Using the name that is in your Aadhaar makes it easier for your friends to recognize you".
As we can see, the text is the same, it only uses local data, in this case, it mentions the Aadhaar.
