Today some users reported new features on the Facebook social network, more specifically on the PC (desktop and notebook). The novelties listed by the desktop platform are the dark mode, faster loading, larger fonts and a more simplified, clean layout, to find things more easily. Our editor, Augusto, was one of those chosen to have access to them, so check out what's new!
Facebook's new design
After accepting to try out the new features, the user will have to choose between the light or dark appearance. Of course, we will choose the dark one, so that we can analyze what it is like to browse Facebook with the dark screen.
On the main screen, we see that the interface is similar to the rounded buttons of the mobile version of the app in the profile/settings section, where the color has also been changed (to blue). The column on the left, which used to be very cluttered with lots of selection options, now has a cleaner look. On the right side, the conversation bar has become fixed (there is no way to disable it) and with more space to view the photo and name of the people added by the user.
Although the user selection bar has been fixed, at least it has become more organized to search for users that you want to start or continue a conversation with.
Another interesting aspect is within the groups, where all the information was more centralized, giving an appearance of a cleaner environment, less polluted with information. However, when we selected to see information about the group, the arrangement of the blocks became strange.
Now it is also possible to choose the font in which you will write the publications. For the avoidance of doubt, no new reactions have been added to the posts.
In the profile, we see that the image of the person's photo went to the central part of the cover. For the rest, it continued with the same layout of information and buttons.
