Galaxy Note 10 can come with DepthVision lens technology

The launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 smartphone is already very close and interesting information has emerged of what may be implemented in its camera. The company recently registered the name "DepthVision Lens". As with most name records, no details are revealed, but it was filed under Class 9, which encompasses things like cell phone cameras, 3D scanning, and camera software for phones.

The name was registered by British Fieldfisher on the 28th of this month at the intellectual property office. Even though it's not clear whether or not it's the Galaxy Note 10's camera, the fact that it's in the 3D scanning category shows that the DepthVision lens will likely be implemented on a phone with Time of Flight (ToF) sensors.

It is speculated that the Note 10 has ToF sensors. So, in that way, perhaps DepthVision Lens technology is the name for the 3D camera functionality. The name Make & Play 3D was also registered last week, which may be related to the ToF sensor.

The Galaxy Note 10 camera is also expected to come with a 3-step variable aperture capability, thus allowing for better quality photos in low light and portrait mode photos.

In any case, it won't be long before we find out what Samsung is preparing for its new smartphone, as its launch will be on the 7th of August in New York City during the Unpacket event. The company is expected to launch two variants of the Galaxy Note 10.
