According to a new ranking published by Ookla, responsible for the website Speedtest.net, the country is in the 70th position in the world, both in broadband and mobile speed. The study is published monthly and samples the speed tests carried out through the platform.

With regard to fixed broadband, Spain appears in the 72nd position among the 133 countries in the ranking. The results correspond to the month of July. The country presented download averages of 16,42 Mbps, while the upload speed was in the range of 6,46 Mbps. However, it is worth mentioning that last year, the numbers were 13,57 Mbps for download and 4,92 Mbps for upload.
Spain occupies the 79th position in the global internet speed ranking In relation to mobile internet, the position is a little worse, with Spain appearing only in the 76th place. Even so, the evolution was great. The July result shows a download rate of 14,91 Mbps, while the upload rate is 5,93 Mbps on average. Compared to the same month last year, the numbers were 11,49 Mbps for download and 4,31 Mbps for upload.
If we compare the numbers for Spain with those at the top of the list, we can see how precarious our internet is. Singapore, which ranks first, averages 154,38 Mbps for download and 151,64 Mbps for upload. In terms of mobile broadband, Norway ranks first, with a download rate of 52,59 Mbps and an upload rate of 14,82.
