iPhone 12 survives a depth of about 10m for more than 20 minutes

After the launch of the new iPhones recently, as always, there are several tests and analyzes with Apple's cell phones. This weekend, the EverythingApplePro EAP YouTube channel published a video in which the "apple" smartphones are tested in the most diverse ways to find out if there is really the much talked about water resistance to submersion of the device in a lake, for example. example.

In the video recorded by the EverythingApplePro EAP channel, the iPhones are placed inside a cage, where they are fixed to the wall of the cage so they don't swing, bump and at the same time leave the connectors and sound protrusions free. Initially, smartphones were subjected to a 2-meter-deep submersion test and, as expected, both the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 did not undergo any changes.

After the first test mentioned above, the youtuber carried out another one, but this time at a depth of 5,49m, where luckily no problem was detected. After this, the cell phones were put to the test once again, being placed at a depth of 9,14m and even after 21 minutes in this state, both the iPhone 11 and the iPhone 12 returned fully functional. It is interesting to note that in the case of the iPhone 11, its IP67 certification guarantees that nothing will happen until a depth of 2 meters, and tests have proven that the phone can go further.

Even with impressive results in water resistance tests, it is not recommended to use the iPhone in these conditions. Keep in mind that Apple doesn't cover damage caused by submersion under its warranty, so it's best not to take any chances.

    Launch and availability

In the US, the iPhone 12 starts at $699. The launch date of the cell phones in Spain is not yet known, nor the value that Apple's new smartphones will have in the country, but it is believed that the price will be around R$6999 to R$14 thousand.
