Samsung reveals new details of ISOCELL HP1
Due to the implementation of deep learning in the tile restructuring algorithm, HP1 behaves differently. The sensor can compress the pixels of a single image in four parts (2x2 binning) to get a 50 MP result, which should reduce image noise and provide a high level of detail.
In the same way, the sensor can record videos in 8K with 1,28µm pixels at 30 frames per second (FPS), but this number can be higher in 4x4 mode, which uses 16 pixels to create a single pixel in the final image. This results in 12,5 MP resolution and 2,56 µm pixels.
In addition, the manufacturer employed an intelligent ISO format, which is able to improve light absorption. This technology captures images at different ISO levels and allows the camera to automatically select the best results for various scenes. Who will be the first with ISOCELL HP1 200 MP?
Although it revealed new information about its 200 MP sensor, the company has not confirmed which will be the first smartphone to debut the component. According to recent rumors, Samsung has already sent ISOCELL HP1 prototypes to manufacturers and Xiaomi may be considering using this feature in the My 12 Ultra, China's next flagship.
In Samsung's portfolio, the first model to use the sensor should be the Galaxy s23 ultra, slated to be announced only in 2023.
