Today Apple held a new product presentation event. At its presentation last month, it announced the new generation of the Apple Watch, iPad and iPad Air, as well as new services like the Apple One. Now it was time to reveal its new smartphones, the iPhones 12, and with it the "apple" discreetly announced that it will no longer bring the wall charger or the EarPods in the box of its cell phones, that is, when buying an iPhone, only the phone itself and a mere USB cable will come in the box.
Today Apple continued with its plans to become an environmentally friendly company and, as many already imagined, after removing the Apple Watch charger from the box, the company did the same with the next generation of its smartphone, the iPhone 12, removed the charger from your cell phone package. Apple's justification for removing the items from the iPhone 12 box is to reduce the use of raw materials per smartphone sold. In addition to removing the charger and headphone jack, the company has reduced the size of the box, thus further reducing carbon emissions. According to the company, they will stop emitting more than 2 million tons of carbon annually, which is equivalent to removing approximately 450 cars from the roads each year.
Although the company claims that it is doing everything for the environment, we know that automatically Apple will save and profit even more. Mainly due to the fact that spending less material means that others will do it, in addition to companies being forced to pay royalties to produce certified products.
Will all Apple customers really have access to the charger and headphones?
The worst excuse of all was when Apple said that due to the fact that there are 700 million EarPods with lightning cable and 2 billion chargers in the world, suggesting that the vast majority of their customers already have access to both accessories.
