Samsung announces ISOCELL 2.0 with a focus on light sensitivity

Samsung announces ISOCELL 2.0 with a focus on light sensitivity

This Wednesday (03), Samsung made official the arrival of the new photographic sensor for smartphones called ISOCELL 2.0, with improvements and focus ca capture and sensitivity to light, which should be the main differential for the production of sharper images even in different lighting and ambient conditions.

The sensor arrives with the proposal to solve the problem of previous models in which light absorption had been totally compromised, and which had already been ruled by Samsung a few years ago, but without success. With this, not only Samsung, but several manufacturers have developed improvement strategies that could finally solve the problem.

This type of equipment is especially expected for premium mid-range and high-end models, especially devices that tend to offer high photography power. Thus, it is natural that the investment in sensors is increasingly evident, since the objective of the manufacturers is to get out of the "sameness" and be able to present something really innovative.

    Innovation and solution

The first ISOCELL sensor model was announced by Samsung in 2013, and its proposal was to solve color crosstalk problems, that is, interference in the real color of the object, which compromises the final result of the photographed image.

But instead, the equipment compromised light absorption, which obviously displeased Samsung and sent it back to square one, with the need to re-develop a new sensor. From this, the ISOCELL Plus was born, which although it presented a certain improvement in relation to the original model, again made evident the problem caused by the metal that had already been identified in the first model.

With this, the ISOCELL 2.0 arrives with the promise of finally having found a solution, thanks to its flexible material that intends not to disturb the image sensor technology, and makes the entry of light more efficient, with results that really impress. It is not known which Samsung sensors will be graced with this new technology, so we must wait for further information from the South Korean giant.
