According to the announcement, Samsung "evaluated the product design, making necessary improvements and running rigorous tests to validate the changes made." Among these changes are the extension of the display's protective layer, which now goes beyond the edges - preventing the user from trying to take it off as happened in several tests; additional reinforcements to better protect the device from external particles and also reinforcement of the top and bottom of the folding area.

In addition, Samsung said it was continually working to improve the Galaxy Fold's overall user experience, including optimizing more apps and services unique to the device.
