Samsung buys network analytics startup to help transition to 5G

Samsung Electronics has acquired Zhilabs, a real-time network analytics startup based in Barcelona. The idea is to facilitate the transition from 4G to 5G technologies. The details of the transition were not revealed.

Samsung will have full control of Zhilabs, however, it will continue to operate independently and under its own management.

The current acquisition of Samsung is part of an initiative unveiled in August by the company to invest 25 trillion won (about $22 billion) in companies working on AI, 5G, components for autonomous vehicles and biopharmaceutical technologies.
