During WWDC 2021 Apple finally announced that it will make its virtual assistant available for use on third-party devices. During the company's presentation, the operation of an automated home through IoT (Internet of Things or Internet of Things) with devices that will support Siri in 2021 was demonstrated.
How will it work?
Through a HomePod, the voice command given will be routed to Wi-Fi-connected third-party devices scattered around the house. During Apple's demonstration, an Ecobee thermostat was shown, as well as smart home features such as, for example, access via Apple Watch to the video doorbell that, in addition to serving visitors, is capable of detecting the arrival of a package delivered by couriers or carriers.
It is also possible to view security camera images and turn lights on or off using voice commands.

In order to bring more security and privacy to the user, Apple has updated the control of Siri virtual voice assistant requests to be carried out by the cell phone itself (in iOS 15).
HomePod Mini and HomePod will support lossless audio after software update
