News! Samsung SmartThings can now control Google Nest devices

This past Tuesday (8) a press release from Samsung, reported that the company has finally joined in a partnership with Google to control its automation devices directly through the SmartThings app. Google Nest devices such as security cameras, thermostats and smart doorbells can now be controlled through the Samsung app, including voice command support.

This feature guarantees more options for managing Google's smart devices, as these are compatible with most of the South Korean giant's devices. Because of this compatibility, we can expect that from now on, Google Nest devices will receive the "Work with SmartThings" (WWST) seal, which confirms access to control by the Samsung system.

"SmartThings users will be able to adjust a Nest thermostat, view live footage from external Nest cameras and hear who's at the door with Nest Hello, all through their smart devices. SmartThings users can also incorporate Nest devices into their current WWST-certified devices to create automated scenes and experiences, controlling functions with simple voice commands or through the SmartThings app".
