Right now, the spotlight is focused on the launch of the Galaxy S21 family that will take place in January 2021, and more recent information has confirmed that these new Samsung devices will support the S Pen, a pen that until then was exclusive to the Note line. With this change in place, rumors spread across the internet claiming that the company would eventually discontinue the Galaxy Note line.
Many factors were taken into account when stating that in fact the Galaxy Note 20 would be the last in its family. For example, people connected to the South Korean company reported that only the S21 FE, S21, S21+, S21 Ultra, Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3 and Z Fold FÉ models would be under development by the company and would be released sometime in 2021.

Well-known insider Ice Universe even joked about this information, when he said on his Twitter profile that there were no clues about the development of the Galaxy Note S21.

TM Roh, president of Samsung's smartphone division, said the company has no intention of retiring the Galaxy Note line.
"The Galaxy Note experience (that of inserting the S Pen holder into other Samsung devices) can be applied to more products, but that doesn't mean the Galaxy Note is coming to an end."

While he confirms that the Galaxy S21 will come with S Pen support, he claims that this is not a plausible reason to do away with the original S Pen lineup. With that, we need to wait and see if the Galaxy Note line will remain firm and strong, or if it will have any significant changes where it gradually loses its shine and is eventually discontinued by the company at some point in the relatively near future.
