Review: The TV in the XNUMXst century, this is the Samsung SUHD TV
One of the best TV experiences right now

Television is a world passion and one of the largest mass media outlets in existence. For decades, people have been able to combine vision and hearing in a single device. More than the radio, the TV is visible to your eyes.

The problem is that in recent years the smartphone, tablet and computer screens began to supply the need for a TV. For those who still liked televisions, and with the increase in the purchasing power of the Spanish population, people started to subscribe to cable channels.

But that wasn't enough. For young people, in particular, the Netflix, YouTube and Apps put the televisions aside – until now, at least. The new TVs seem to be converging audiences: young people who are into on-demand content and older people who enjoy good football in the late afternoon – or the soap opera in the early evening.

after a month testing Samsung SUHD TV with quantum dot technology, I definitely went back to consuming content on TV – only this time it's the right way, which is how I, the consumer, want it. THE Samsung is taking the televisions, Certainly, for the future.

    Design

Review: The TV in the XNUMXst century, this is the Samsung SUHD TV
7,9 mm at the edge. That's right!

Have you ever seen a Galaxy S7? Fine, no? For this is the edge of the TV: 7,9 mm. Samsung improved the design of last year's curved television. for support of 55 inch model, they decided on two brushed steel feet that give a cleaner look to where you will place the TV.

The bet on the curved screen is given by the sensation of endless image – in addition to making it easier for people to see everything. The South Korean is even betting on monitors for desktops and gamers this way.

With no buttons, the company opted for a “Samsung” at the bottom center of the TV, which when turned on, lights up the logo. It's all very beautiful.

    Fabric

Review: The TV in the XNUMXst century, this is the Samsung SUHD TV
More vivid, bright and crisp colors

By the way, what good is a beautiful design if when the TV is turned on, the image is terrible? Well, you're welcome, right? Now, in addition to the television be 4K, Samsung invested in quantum dot technology – which we explain how it works – but basically it serves to make everything more alive, realistic and beautiful.

The various positive adjectives so far are not meant to mislead the reader. I was impressed with TV, because what it doesn't lack is technology. The screen resolution is a 4K HDR, which brings more light, brightness and contrast for the content you watch.

Because the TV is so big, it's better not to watch your programs so close to it, but one thing is for sure, the vision doesn't get tired during the day.

    4K experience

Unlike a smartphone, which has to say the processor, RAM and how everything works, when talking about TV, I need to bring the experience of what it was like to use it. The first question I asked myself was, “Cool, a 4K TV, and what about the content?”

    Netflix

To make the most of it, the first thing I did was increase my Netflix plan for one that had 4K content. I put the internet cable on tv for a satisfying connection and started the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt season XNUMX marathon.

The thing is: the image is extremely detailed, the colors are vibrant and the motion of the camera is smooth. After enjoying Netflix, which is basically the only medium I use to watch series, I decided to use YouTube.

    YouTube

for the TV to have 4K technology, the application has a content section in that quality. Again, the same expected quality. Now, one thing is important to say. If your internet plan is too basic, forget about that TV. When the picture quality is low, it's horrible to watch anything.

Of course, not that it looks good on other devices, but it really sucks. The Full HD experience also gets even better.

    GloboPlay

O Rede Globo application it's another pleasant surprise. There is 4K content available for free, such as the opening of the Olympics, in addition to the broadcaster having a partnership with Samsung, which gives a subscription to 3 months free of all app content. That is, 4K soap operas and miniseries were at my disposal.

    Aposta no 4K

    Apple TV

I use one 4th generation Apple TV. It is important to note: she does not support 4K, only HDMI. THE upscaling, which is the TV technology that improves the image, helps and looks good, but doesn't compare to a 100% 4K experience. When playing some apps or watching episodes of Pokémon on Pokémon TV, it was easy, but it's worth switching from Apple TV's Netflix to the one already installed on the television.

    Video game

Now with new consoles with 4K support the experience must be incredible, even because the TV has Dolby Surrounding 5.1 technology, bringing very clear sounds when using the television. When playing a Nintendo Wii U, the experience is pleasant and there is a gain in image quality, just like on Apple TV.

    Open and closed TV channels

I confess that for me this is not the reason to have a 4K TV. In fact, this is the ultimate reason to buy one. It is likely that take years until the channels and service providers make this broadcast available. As in the other examples, quality makes a difference, but bet on Netflix and YouTube.

4K TV here in Spain depends on how much you like series (basically original Netflix productions), YouTube I but Globo miniseries. This is basically the content that the user will have available for a long time. But, again, for my experience it's enough.

    One Control e One Connect

Review: The TV in the XNUMXst century, this is the Samsung SUHD TV
Everything you need, in the palm of your hand

One of the most important points of the television is the remote control, or at least the amount of those you will have to carry around. If you are one of those who connect Blue-ray, Home Theater, Apple TV, TV a cabo, I have news: Samsung created the universal control simplest in the world.

Thanks to the technology of One Connect, That is a box with HDMI inputs for you to connect all your peripheral products, the TV recognizes all the products and makes them work just by the touch of the main control.

Review: The TV in the XNUMXst century, this is the Samsung SUHD TV
    One Control's partner, One Connect

Want to know how many remotes you'll have to take for the couch? Only one even, which even has voice recognition. Just tell the TV that it opens apps, puts it on the series you want and “types” it on YouTube.

It is precisely for this simplicity that the Samsung SUHDTV draws attention: anyone can touch it. And, of course, it “scares” because it is big and extremely modern, but the commands are so natural that no tutorial is needed to mess with the Samsung SUHDTV (which, by the way, also teaches you how to move it, if you want to).

    Operating System and Price

Samsung uses on this TV the system operation Tizen OS. The software runs efficiently on the TV. One of the graces is power download apps like Facebook, karaoke and Spotify. Quickly, too, it is possible to switch between the products connected to the TV (three clicks, at most, is what Samsung claims). For now, the samsung app store for tv is very limited, unlike Apple TV, which already has more options.

Finally, the price. Samsung has released some models of this SUHD TV line quantum dots. to what the Techlifers tested was the Samsung SUHD TV, with quantum dot technology, 55KS7500 (55-inch curved screen). The suggested value of it in the market is R$ 9.299.

Unfortunately, with exorbitant values, the new line of the South Korean goes from 6.500 reais up to 100. A value, in fact, prohibitive.

    Full list (manufacturer's suggested price):

    • 49KS7000 (49-inch flat screen): R$6.599
    • 55KS7000 (55-inch flat screen): R$8.699
    • 55KS7500 (55 inches with curved screen): R$9.299
    • 65KS7500 (65 inches with curved screen): R$16.999
    • 65KS9000 (65 inches with curved screen): R$19.999
    • 78KS9000 (78 inches with curved screen): R$42.999
    • 88KS9800 (88 inches with curved screen): R$99.999

    Final considerations

Review: The TV in the XNUMXst century, this is the Samsung SUHD TV
    * House for illustrative purposes only

A Samsung SUHDTV with quantum dots technology, it's amazing. There's no other word to describe it. The quality is excellent. The remote control is simple, practical and universal. The problem is the value, which goes beyond the limit for most Spaniards.

O 4k “next generation”, which Samsung sells, delivers what it says, but it is outside the standards of the great mass of the country. for yet there is not so much content in 4K, this TV is not yet a priority. There is a wide range of TVs, from Samsung included, that are large, with good quality, but not so expensive.

If you really want to get into 4K on the right foot, this is the TV. If you're looking for another one with more cost benefit, it's good. forget about quantum dots and the curved screen, at least.

In addition, the TV was a pleasant surprise with several positive points.
