Samsung's new Galaxy Watch must be charged with solar energy

Samsung should launch a solution that should solve one of the biggest problems that Galaxy Watch users and other smartwatches face: the battery. This is said because the company has registered a new technology patent, which must recharge the watch using solar energy.

And so, the user will no longer have to worry about putting their device to charge in the socket. Despite the patent document having been published and authenticated by the responsible body in the United States, there is still no prediction of when the novelty should reach the final consumer.

According to the website LetsGo Digital, which discovered the patent registration, the bracelet would come with two solar panels, one on each side of the watch. And so, they would have the function of keeping the device working, without draining the battery. Nonetheless, for this to work, the user needs to have contact with the sun.

The carrying capacity and the speed at which this happens are still unknown details. Furthermore, the patent registration application was initiated in 2019, at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). However, only on September 16, 2021, the manufacturer Samsung sent all the necessary documents to finalize the process.

In short, the way in which the panels must be placed, must make it possible for the light to be captured by the bracelet in any situation of use. To offer this, Samsung must put a system of "polymer with quantum dots". The same must tread the path that the light will have to walk between the solar cells, to be able to power the smartwatch battery.

Lastly, in Spain, the latest model is the Galaxy Watch 4, which sells for BRL 1.949 (40 mm) and BRL 2.049 (44 mm) on Samsung's official store. It has a 920 GHz Exynos W1,18 processor with two cores, 1,5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of space.
