Samsung Sues for Galaxy S20 Design Flaw; understand

Samsung is being sued by some users of the brand who acquired smartphones from the Galaxy S20 line, which hit the market last year and was the South Korean flagship, bringing powerful hardware and an interesting set of cameras. Despite the high-end technical sheet, the device is apparently causing problems due to its design, which causes the rear camera glass to break without reason even after replacing the component.

    Process reason

A group of users is filing a class action against the South Korean giant, which is accused of 'violating consumer rights' and selling the Galaxy S20, S20 Ultra and S20 FE with a pre-existing defect in the rear camera module glass. According to customer reports, the glass is cracking for no apparent reason or contact with solid objects, indicating that the manufacturer used a low-strength material in its 2020 flagship.

The company refused to replace the defective devices, even within the legal guarantee, alleging "misuse" by users, who had to shell out about US$ 400 (approximately R$ 2.100) to repair the broken glass. According to information, even after replacing the glass that protects the rear cameras, cracks appeared again, indicating that the problem is apparently related to the design of the smartphone.

For now, the South Korean manufacturer has not yet taken a position on what happened, and it is necessary to wait for the end of the process for users to have an adequate response from the company, it still denies after-sales assistance. There is no information on in which countries the defect is being reported.

    Samsung will discontinue Exynos 990

Rumors indicate that Samsung will discontinue production of the Galaxy S20FE with the Exynos 990 processor, starting to use exclusively the Snapdragon 865, which is present in the 5G version of the Summer Fan Edition. The manufacturer decided to discontinue the use of the Exynos 990 after several complaints from users, who reported excessive battery consumption even after software updates and lower performance, especially in games.
