Galaxy Z Fold 3 should arrive with Snapdragon 888 and new display technology

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is Samsung's next generation of foldable cell phone and is being quoted to hit the market in July and should bring some new features compared to its predecessor, such as a current chipset, S Pen support and a new technology for protection of the device's display, making it more resistant against scratches or scratches.

The novelty was recently patented by the company and if it is actually used in the next Galaxy Z Fold, it is likely to be implemented in other cell phones of the brand, arriving first for the more expensive models next year.

    Galaxy Fold 3

The Galaxy Fold line revolutionized the smartphone market, arriving as the first viable alternative to folding cell phones, even though the first units of the device had some resistance problems on the display. The manufacturer improved the project and corrected the main flaws reported by users, inserting special support against scratches in the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which is very similar to what is offered by Corning in Gorilla Glass or Victus protections but applied throughout the construction of the device.

The patent was divided into two: Armor Skin and Armor Layer, being device protection and greater screen resistance, respectively. There is still no confirmation from Samsung, although recent rumors point to improvements in the South Korean's next foldable phone.

As it is a top of the line, it is expected that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be launched with the Snapdragon 888 processor, Qualcomm's flagship for 2021 and which is present in several smartphones, such as Samsung's S21 line or Xiaomi's Mi 11, both newly released.

    Fast charging support

The foldable also received this week certification from a Chinese regulatory company that guarantees 25 W fast charging. Information suggests that unlike the Galaxy S21 line, Samsung will ship the charger included in the box, the same as the one used in the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and has the model number EP-TA800. Although other manufacturers use higher charging power - reaching up to 60 W in some models from Xiaomi or Oppo - the brand still chose to keep the 25 W of the previous generation.

As for wireless charging, there is still no information, but the only certainty is that this technology will be present in the company's next release. In the previous version, the power for induction charging is only 11 W. The 3C certification has already revealed the battery capacity of the smartphone, which will come with a combined battery of 4.274mAh (2.215 mAh + 2.060mAh), which may even be announced like 4.400mAh.
