Déjà vu! Windows 10 has performance issues again after update

Windows updates should fix existing issues. But the opposite is true for an update released on the September patch day. The Search and Start menu will no longer work for some users.

Regular Windows updates are essential for a reliable and secure system. Lately, though, Microsoft has managed to make Windows worse with an update.

One such buggy update is KB4515384 for Windows 1903 version 10. It increases the version number to 18362.356 and shows some unwanted side effects for some users.

Although KB4515384 fixes a bug where CPU usage exceeds the max limit when using Cortana language assistant.

But the biggest problem has appeared now and it doesn't just affect version 1709, versions 1703, 1809 and 1903 are also showing performance drop after the September update. And so far Microsoft has not yet known when this will be resolved.

Users will get a message that there are issues fixed at the next login or Windows will come around the corner with a critical bug. And no, logoff and logon do not fix the problem.

Sooner or later, there will surely be updates to resolve the issues. Unfortunately we don't know when Microsoft will do this.

I'm no longer allowing automatic updates here. I've been postponing them all, because as I only have a PC with Windows 10, I can't run the risk of running out of internet, let alone letting my editing and gamer computer slow.
