Microsoft fails again and sends incorrect update for Windows 10

Microsoft has re-released an incorrect Windows 10 update for its users. In October this had already happened, Microsoft sent the incorrect update that was supposed to bring "quality improvements for Autopilot devices with Windows".

However, instead of the update arriving only for devices equipped with Autopilot, which is a tool used to configure devices in a business environment, the update was sent to all Windows 10 users, including Windows 10 Home users.

Now history has repeated itself, the same mistake was made by Microsoft sending an update to Windows 10 Autopilot 'KB4532441' to everyone as part of their Patch Tuesday updates on December 10th.

As before, people using versions of Windows 10 without Autopilot, have been repeatedly getting update messages that always result in error messages.

In fairness to Microsoft, the identification of the flaw was quickly recognized and the update canceled. As Microsoft states in the update release notes.

"This update was available on Windows Update. However, we removed it because it was being offered incorrectly."

If you use Autopilot, the device you are using should now automatically update to the latest version.

If you don't use the feature and have installed the update, don't worry. Microsoft guarantees that "There is no problem if the update to Autopilot has been performed, it will not affect systems that do not use the feature".

You can still run the update uninstall without any problems. To do this, go to "Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features -> View installed updates, locate the KB4532441 update and remove it.

So at least this time, we're not talking about a harmful update for the system. Let's hope this is the last glitch for quite a while, well, I said that in October.
