    What's in the Windows 2021 July 5004237 Update (KB10)?

Microsoft has recently started releasing the seventh cumulative update of the year for Windows 10 in versions 21H1, 20H2, and 2004. The July 2021 Update (KB5004237) for Windows 10 is being shipped through Windows Update, WSUS, and the MS Catalog. This month's Patch Tuesday arrives with protection against the PrintNightmare vulnerability and other critical bugs.

In case you've been following us, you may already know that there have been recent updates to Windows 10 that have caused issues with the taskbar. The bug was first reported in May 2021 when Microsoft started implementing the feature called "News and Interests". This issue affected users who installed the October 2020 patch and the May 2020 update.

According to reports and communications from Microsoft itself, the "News and Interests" button may have been blurred on some computers. In addition, it was also said that there were problems with the disappearance of program shortcut icons on the taskbar. These issues have apparently been fully fixed with this latest update.

Users who were affected by the above mentioned issue said that the program shortcut icons on the taskbar would disappear, even affecting the performance of some Windows 10 apps and features such as sound and notifications.

Apparently, if you liked the "News and Interests" feature, you can now enable it again without any problems, as the bug described above has apparently disappeared.

    performance issues

With the KB5004237 update for Windows 10 it is guaranteed that the issue causing the frame rate per second (FPS) to drop in games has been resolved once and for all. The bugs arose due to security updates made available by Microsoft in March 2021, which caused performance drops on several computers.

Although some users have stated that they were able to fix the above error by installing the latest updates, others chose to go back to previous Windows 10 builds. (Blue Screen of Death or Blue Screen of Death).

So far Microsoft is not aware of any new issues with this new update (KB5004237).
