Windows 10 21H1 has a release date accidentally leaked by Microsoft

In February Microsoft will actually start work on Windows 10 21H1, which is when Release Preview Ring testers will evaluate builds (19043 or newer). Windows 10 21H1 is a service pack update with a focus on quality improvements and bug fixes. That is, there will be no addition of important new features.

Through a new code that was discovered, Microsoft ended up confirming that it is working on the "release" of a "new windows". This update will have, according to the company, a built-in protection feature against Kernel Transaction Manager (KTM).

In the Chromium codes, one can read:

"The release of Windows coming out in June 2021 has a new API that can disable KTM exploits. Verified on an internal OS that the KTM exploit is no longer available."

    Availability and release

If you've been following the Windows update cycle, you've probably noticed that every first major update to the operating system comes in May. Because of this, Windows 10 21H1 is expected to be released in May 2021 and made available to more users in June 2021.

However, even with the above, there is still a chance that Microsoft is talking about the Windows 10 21H2 "Sun Valey" update, which is expected to reach RTM (Manufacturer Release) status in June.
