This Wednesday, April 7, Microsoft released yet another update to its Windows 10 operating system for Insiders. It comes in ISO format and allows a clean manual installation with options from Build 21354 21H2. As usual, the company appreciates the feedback from its users who have contributed to pointing out the flaws that are fixed and improved in updates like this.

For now, the update is only available to those who are part of the Windows Insider group, who receive this type of news in advance. The highlights of the update are the new customization options in the taskbar, an efficient control for screen display, new native settings for camera usage, improvements and much more. A new set of features for customizing the news and interests feed allows for better customization for suggested highlights. On the taskbar, the "Manage Interests" option displays a personalization experience of what is really interesting to the user, allowing them to navigate between topics and save the most relevant ones.

For new users, the system even suggests a personalization card to remind them about these options of personal interest. The topics available on the platform involve a large number of categories, ranging from news, entertainment, sports, cooking and so on. Once chosen, the user can still view them in a list in the "Followed interests" option available on the left side of the news and interests panel.

Adaptive Brightness Control can now be disabled. (Image: Playback / Windows, Microsoft)

In order to improve battery performance on computers that have this feature, such as notebooks, for example, the adaptive display control option allows the user to have greater autonomy, compromising the brightness rate delivered on the screen. but with the trade-off of decreasing image quality. These image changes have generated a good number of feedbacks that have requested that this adaptive brightness be turned off.

Well, to meet the demand of users who prefer to disable or configure in a way that does not disturb them, this option was inserted in the system. In addition, the image mode in the HDR standard is also available (for monitors that are compatible).

During the pandemic, using webcam has become much more popular. Perhaps because of this, Microsoft noted that it was necessary to improve the system's native features. In addition to the option to add and remove cameras, the update now brings the configuration of image defaults such as brightness and contrast control.

These features are usually already available in video conferencing applications such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams, but the option to configure it directly from Windows makes it the default setting for all programs that use the camera, including the native Windows application. Until then, these features are basic, but they show an interest from the company as it advances in its configuration molds. Depending on the features supported by the camera, you can configure brightness and contrast, enable HDR or Eye Contact default, or correct camera rotation.
