The 5G network is already a reality, however, it has not yet arrived in its entirety. The news now is that two of China's three largest operators can join together to accelerate the development of the 5G internet network.
According to information from Bloomberg, the Chinese government, which is the majority shareholder of telecommunications companies China Unicon and China Telecom, wants to merge into a single company. Still, the two together will have fewer users than China Mobile, the country's largest operator.
The intention is that with the merger, China can overtake the United States in the international race for the deployment of the fifth generation of mobile internet.
As we already know, 5G technology promises access up to five times faster than current mobile networks. To top it off, not only smartphones will benefit, but many other connected devices as well.
