Facebook is working to expand its e-commerce service. In Europe, Mark Zuckerberg's company revealed that it has expanded the novelty to 17 new markets.
The service, called Marketplace, is located next to the main resources for news, photos, videos, messages and other social network tools. It is seen as a strong competitor to established services such as Craigslist and eBay.
Marktplace is now being made available in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

"We want to make buying and selling easier, but we also want to make it community-based," said Facebook Marketplace Vice President Deborah Liu.
Now, Facebook's push into online commerce needs to have some financial impact. The company reported a 45% increase in revenue to $9,3 billion in the last quarters, with 98% coming from advertisements on its free services.
