Facebook will allow live streams of video conferences on Messenger Rooms

Facebook announced yesterday, Thursday (23), a novelty in relation to Messenger Rooms. Now users will be able to start live broadcasts within these private meetings, that is, it is possible to turn a video conference with up to 50 people into a live one.

This feature comes to various types of Facebook accounts, from personal profiles, pages and even groups. The video conference organizer is the one who may or may not start the live.

The organizer can still control the broadcast preview and can see it. When starting a live, all videoconference participants are notified in advance so they can leave if they don't want to be part of the live. You can add and expel participants while a broadcast is in progress.

Facebook now stands as another differentiated option for video conferences, competing with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. The new broadcast feature can take the basic functionality of a video conference and simultaneously transform it into a dashboard, for example. This would also allow, at the corporate level, a meeting to be watched live by employees. The participation limit is 50 people, but many more can attend. The possibilities are endless and can even extend to online conventions in times of a pandemic.

Some countries not specified by Facebook have already received the feature which should expand without delay to all regions that have Messenger Rooms functionality. Spain is one of them and soon the resource will be able to add to the day to day of work during the extended quarantine we are experiencing.
