From May 25th of next month, the European Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force in the EU, and with that, the company will ask if users want to continue sharing political and religious preferences with it, q end more effective advertisements for them.

In addition, it will be possible to limit how much the company can know about the user while browsing other websites. The measure will stop receiving advertising based on content that is consumed outside of Facebook, if the user wishes.

Mark Zuckerberg's social network, after the controversy over the use of facial recognition without prior authorization, will also question whether or not people want to use the technology. Currently, it serves to suggest tags in photos where the network can detect faces. In the future, the idea is that once a photo is uploaded to the site, users detected in it will have to approve the post before it becomes visible.
