Instagram is taking away the ability to share in stories for some

Recently Instagram started disabling the ability to share (and reshare) posts from the app's feed to stories. According to Social Media Today, this change was displayed in a banner that was displayed in "selected countries" for testing purposes.

Check out a tweet below where a user comments on the restriction imposed by Instagram:

Instagram users: I wish people stopped sharing so many feed posts to their Stories

In the notification displayed by the Instagram app it says:

"We've heard from our community that they want to see fewer posts in stories. During this test, you will not be able to add a feed post to your stories."

Although many may find this situation irritating, it is important to note that sharing feed posts in stories is a way that many artists, companies and organizations use and end up appearing more than the posts of common users (friends, family, acquaintances).

    What will happen?

So far, Instagram has disabled the sharing (and re-sharing) function as a test, as has the disappearance of the like count on posts. Ironically, Twitter has started testing the functionality of sharing tweets in the form of stickers in Instagram stories.

The act of sharing posts found in the feed in stories has become so common that it is normal to find a post you just found in the feed in stories. To what extent does this make sense? Comment below what you think and share your opinion with us!
