Several native Windows apps are undergoing a revamp in Windows 11 such as Calculator, Email/Calendar and the popular MS Paint. The classic Paing app is being updated with WinUI, Fluent Design and modern controls to make it look like new apps for Windows 11.
In 2017, it was believed that Microsoft would remove Paint and replace it with Paint 3D. However, the company later said that MS Paint will continue to be a part of Windows 10. The program was last updated in 2019 with new accessibility features.
Although Paint has always been present in Windows releases, but it looks like it will get a major update in Windows 11 version 21H2. Fortunately, thanks to the images posted on Unsplash platforms, we were able to see a little bit of what this revamp will look like.
Paint gets a new design and scribble mode in Windows 11
Like File Explorer, Microsoft Paint will receive a new menu at the top called the "command bar" and will replace the traditional ribbon menu. See in the image below that Paint appears to be more optimized for touchscreen devices.
What's in Update KB5005190 (Build 22000.132) for Windows 11?Paint has been updated with new icons, rounded corners and Windows 11 dark mode support, as well as having its menu redesigned. It will be possible to change the theme of the program directly in MS Paint, but at the same time the application will automatically respect the theme of the operating system (if you do not want to use something different from what is applied in the rest of the OS).
There is no denying that MS has never been a comprehensive image editing tool and it is likely that it will not have advanced features in this update. However, the program still serves to make simple and quick adjustments to an image.
