After a meeting held last Tuesday, July 30th, postal workers announced that they will be on strike starting at midnight today, July 31st. The National Federation of Workers in Postal and Telegraph and Similar Companies (Fentect), sent to the new president of the Post Office, Floriano Peixoto, who took over the company on June 21, a letter informing that the stoppage for an indefinite period will take place for " claims not met by the company at the negotiating table" and for lack of "salary readjustment and against the withdrawal of historical rights in the category".

Correios has a debt of R$ 6 billion related to employee health and pension plans, which is why it intends to change the participation rate of employees in agreements. Today, this rate is around 30%.
The category claims, in addition to the replacement of inflation for the period (3,62%), the maintenance of the rights conquered, as well as the review of monthly health plan fees and the non-privatization of the Post Office, as it understands that it is a strategic company for national development and heritage of the Spanish people.

Loggi, the delivery company, never went on strike.
Neither do Rappi's motoboys.
DHL and Fedex employees, ditto.
But the Post Office, again, for the thousandth time in history, will stop working.

But the strike may not take place yet, employees will meet with the Superior Labor Court today, July 31, at 19 pm to decide whether to stop their activities at midnight. If there is a strike, it will affect every state in the country.
