A avell has in Spain an entire catalog made for gamers who want the maximum experience in their games. Among notebooks with RTX graphics, gaming headsets, mousepads and keyboards, all aimed at high performance, the gaming mouse Avell Volcano is the company's solo debut in the mouse market, as the other models are made in partnership with other companies.

For its debut, the avell don't dare much in V, bringing good technical specifications, ideal to be the first gaming mouse for many players, and interesting features that add charm to any gamer setup. Will the gaming mouse Avell Volcano is the ideal entry model? We will answer this question in this review.

    Design

Review: Avell Volcano is the perfect gaming mouse for the casual gamer
The Avell Volcano is a gaming mouse with interesting configurations for its price range

The first thing you notice when you take the Avell Volcano of the box, is its false fragility. Built entirely in ABS plastic, the gaming mouse has dimensions of 131 x 74 x 44mm and weight of 150g, which makes it very light and comfortable to handle. Despite being small, it holds firm in the hand and gives the feeling of being heavier than it is.

At the top, the V there is a gap in the middle of the product, separating the right and left buttons by the scroll wheel that is in the middle. Aligned with the scroll wheel, there are two mouse speed buttons, which allow you to adjust the speed of the pointer – or little arrow – that moves on the screen.

The buttons resemble the volume buttons present on common controls, with plus (+) and minus (-) signs to help the player quickly during the game. Speaking of these buttons, it comes with up to 4000 sensitivity per DPI, which is quite a lot for a gaming mouse in this category – but we'll talk about that later.

Avell Volcano has dedicated buttons for sensitivity adjustment by DPI

Returning to the design of Avell Volcano, on the sides of the mouse there is a rough texture that helps with ergonomics, as they prevent your fingers from escaping. Above the rough left region, where the thumb region is more or less, there are two buttons for interacting with the computer. That is, with them it is possible to go back or forward a web page and computer folders.

The mouse, in general, is surprising for what is offered in relation to its cost. The materials aren't first-rate, but the ABS plastic set and textured corners give the room its own charm. Avell Volcano. All buttons are easily accessible and the ergonomic design fits very well in the hand.

    User Experience

Use the Avell Volcano both for work – browsing the internet, editing videos and photos – and for games, it's very good. The DPI adjustment buttons are very easy to access and their levels are very welcome for many types of applications. In all, there are 6 levels: 50, 1000, 1500, 2000, 3000 and 4000 DPI. All levels are identified by the colors surrounding the mouse, which are, respectively: red, yellow, blue, green, orange and pink. The available options are very interesting for a gaming mouse in this category, with 4000 DPI being an option that is not very common to find in products in this price range.

Unfortunately, the levels are only the ones that can be accessed by the buttons, without the possibility of choosing the “middle ground” between them. For more hardcore gamers, this can be a problem, because the DPI is much more dependent on the player's custom than the game itself - but being a more standard gamer, the DPI limitation didn't bother me.

    Gaming experience is very good

For fans of shooting games or those who require a lot of precision, the Avell Volcano is a great option for having an AVAGO 3050 sensor, from avell. The sensor has a red light below the mouse to identify movement. In theory, it achieves a speed of 60 inches per second and acceleration of 20G at a rate of 1000 Hz. In practice, it's like you get a faster response in action games. In tests with Fortnite, for example, the experience was very good and even the gameplay improved.

Another point worth mentioning positively is the 1,60m braided cable. In addition to being large, allowing greater mobility, it does not curl and is reinforced against everyday damage - in almost a month, my cat tried, in vain, to gnaw the cable of the Avell Volcano.

On the underside, the gaming mouse has a kind of metal support, which helps the mouse to slide on the mousepad more easily than the ones made of rubber. Still, these same supports are excellent in terms of cleaning, because they don't accumulate dirt under them. Remember those old mice that lost precision because of the excess dirt underneath them? So, there is no such problem here.

    Customization of RGB colors

Review: Avell Volcano is the perfect gaming mouse for the casual gamer
Gaming mouse feels flimsy but is firm in the hands and fits well on the sides

A function that was missing using the mouse for a few weeks was the lack of customization of the RGB lighting, which does not allow you to change the colors according to your setup. For example, the gaming keyboard used in combination with the mouse to carry out the tests has 3 different types of colors (green, red and yellow). If I wanted to synchronize the two accessories - for aesthetic purposes, of course, because in practice it wouldn't influence anything -, so that they stay in the same color, I would have to use 500 DPI, which is VERY slow.

If you have OCD in this matter of uniformity, either you adapt to the accessory or better acquire a more customizable model. This aspect, by far, diminishes the functionality of the peripheral in the game or navigation, but we cannot fail to highlight how the mouse differs from the rest of the setup, if the other accessories do not have the same colors.

    Conclusion

Without a doubt, the gaming mouse Avell Volcano It is an accessory that stands out, above all, for its cost-benefit ratio. It delivers very welcome features to both standard gamers and those looking for their first gaming mouse.

For less than R$ 150, you will get an ergonomic mouse, with levels of DPI not found in products in the same price range, reinforced cable against kinks and “cable villains” and fast response. The lack of customization is not that big of a problem beyond aesthetics, nor the lack of sensitivity customization options will hinder the experience.
