    Windows Subsystem for Linux gained support for installing and running GUI applications. Microsoft's objective with the arrival of this novelty is to assign more resources to the system for developers, for example, who can now compile their editor applications for Linux natively through the system.

    Such support integrates the functions for audio and microphone, as well as the GPU, which makes it possible to run applications with 3D acceleration. To demonstrate the feature in operation, a video was published by the company on its official page;

    Task Manager

    Two great novelties were also introduced in the system's Task Manager, functions that help classify the running processes, able to "tame" these activities more precisely. One new "Process Classification" of Microsoft Edge has been inserted in System Manager, in order to clarify which resources are being consumed by the browser.

    In addition to icons that make it easier to identify visually, the new classification is divided into Tabs, Browser Processes, Utility Plugins and more. It is worth remembering that the feature is only available for the version of Microsoft Edge available on the Dev and Canary channels.

    The other novelty is called "Eco mode" and is still in the experimental phase to be officially implemented on Windows 10. Its proposal is to offer users a more objective way to limit the resource consumption of a given process. When active, you can identify the tasks that are running in the Status column.

    For computer models and especially notebooks, the feature promises to help especially those who have a more modest hardware configuration, where their performance can easily be compromised if a heavier program is running.

    Windows 10 build 21364 also adds a new layout for the 50-key Japanese language virtual keyboard (50-on). This new layout is very popular on kiosks and other types of Japanese devices, and basically allows you to type Japanese text without even knowing how to write using the Hiragana method, one of the syllabaries of the language in Japan.

    Finally, the company highlighted the novelties in bug fixes and system improvements, which include the compatibility of printers connected via USB, correction in the information of HDDs as SSDs in the Settings page, fixes for problems with Windows Firewall, errors during running certain games with HDR enabled and so on.
