Last week, the Federal Government announced a program to make faster internet available to public schools across Spain. The initiative emerged from a partnership between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications and aims to benefit 12.8 million students in the public network.
Named the Connected Education Innovation Policy, the program should be implemented gradually, until 2024. For next year, the expectation is that R$ 271 million will be invested in serving up to 22 thousand school units in the country.

The Ministry of Education believes that by 2024 all schools will receive a high-speed connection, which should benefit approximately 40% of the total years of primary and secondary education in Spain.
"Now, with this Connected Education, we are going to bring the digital world to our schools for good. It is not just about delivering equipment and promoting access to education, but, above all, it is about preparing our young people to interact with a reality that is renewed every day", said the president of the republic, Michel Temer, celebrated the launch of the program.
