    Galaxy Note 20 cameras receive low DxOMark scores; know why

    DxOMark is one of the main sites responsible for analyzing the quality of camera sensors, audio and display of recently launched smartphones. The team takes into account several technical factors to score the quality of photographs and videos produced by the device. In October, the portal carried out a review of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, a version that features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ SM8250 (7nm) chipset.

    In this analysis, the cell phone obtained only 120 points, being considered one of the worst in terms of cameras and occupying the 17th position in the ranking, behind the Huawei Mate 30 Pro.

    Note 20 review

    This week the portal carried out tests on the Galaxy Note 20 with the Exynos 990 chipset, the most basic version of the three models: Note 20, 20 Plus and 20 Ultra. Amazingly, the common version got the same score as the most advanced smartphone in the line.

    In the overall set of cameras, the Note 20 received 123 points, 74 for the wide-angle and telephoto sensors and 105 for the resolution and quality of videos recorded through this device.

    The review highlights that the cell phone has good exposure and color reproduction, both indoors and outdoors. Although the Galaxy Note 20 does not have laser focus, the autofocus proved to be accurate and responsive, that is, capable of changing focus between various objects quickly.

    During the recording of the videos, graininess was identified in the image, especially in low-light environments. It's not a problem, but other models make better use of camera sensors in poorly lit places.

    PROS:

    • Reach in outdoor photos;
    • Details in photographs using close-up zoom;
    • Wide-angle sensor with wide field of view;
    • Night photos using the LED Flash;
    • Video stabilization.

    CONS:

    • Grain in medium or long zoom images;
    • Low exposure in night shots.
