The Galaxy Fold was the first foldable smartphone from Samsung, a manufacturer that was one of the first to enter the foldable device market, although it suffered from some problems in the initial version of the project. Recent leaks indicate that the company is working to innovate in the smartphone market and introduce a folding version with a double hinge.

Galaxy Dual Fold
The supposed "Dual Fold" will have two hinges that will be used to further reduce the length of the smartphone, although the width increases considerably due to the amount of folds. The goal is to develop a smartphone that has a large, high-resolution screen but is portable.
For now we only have rumors, as Samsung has not confirmed the existence of the device project. Leaks indicate that when unfolded the screen may have an aspect ratio of 16:9 or 18:9.
The release date is still unknown, but international portals suggest that it will be from the second half of this year. Two years ago Xiaomi patented a similar model, but the company did not continue with the development of the device and will launch later this year the common version with only one fold and which will arrive to compete with the Galaxy Fold Z 2 and the newly arrived Huawei Mate X2 .

folding market
In the fourth quarter of 2020, shipments of foldable smartphones grew by 54% in the quarter and 242% in the period. For now, access to foldable smartphones is still a distant reality for the Spanish, after all, the cheapest model is found above R$9.990, an amount that can be invested in high-end devices such as the iPhone 12 Pro Max or Galaxy S21 Ultra, for example.
Manufacturers are evolving their prototypes and creating folding phones with cutting-edge technology, increasing the display resolution and adding features that are normally only present on tablets.
