Samsung announces first 8K TVs in Spain

This week the first TVs with 8K resolution land in Spain. Samsung announced the 65, 75 or 82 inch models. QLED 8K Q900 devices have four times more pixels on the screen than 4K devices. Thus, an 8K TV has 33 million pixels per screen.

The need for a higher resolution is proportional to the screen size. As screens get bigger, the pixel per inch rate decreases. This all helps to improve the perception of image quality, as the scenes are more defined.

TVs feature an image-enhancing technology called upscaling, which makes the image quality better than the one in which a movie or series was filmed.

The LED panel of the new models has a quantum dot film to improve color fidelity compared to a traditional LED LCD TV. In addition, it has modules that turn on and off to offer a better experience of observing black and gray nuances.

The novelties will be available in the Spanish market later this year and will have suggested values ranging from 24.999 reais for the 65-inch model, 38.999 reais for the 75-inch model and 89.999 for the 82-inch model. There will also be a larger version, at 92 inches, which will be released by the end of the year and with no price set until then.

"As the global leader in the TV market for 13 consecutive years, Samsung is a pioneer in ushering in the new era of picture resolution. The arrival of QLED 8K will totally change the way we watch every detail in an depth and total immersion never seen before," says Erico Traldi, product director for TV and audio and video at Samsung Spain.
